I am tired of story after story at home and on the news. SO I wanted to include some links to bullying issues. Bully talks should be just as important as talking about sex and drugs. These are not the kids that sit in the corners or shy kids. Teachers and adults need to stop closing their eyes because they don't want to approach parents without "absolute proof". Or of course its the children of "giving" parents. Teach your children that some kids are different and more often than not they NEED true friends. If one child complains, take them seriously. Bullying is abuse.

Covert bullying can be carried by the victim for life and can affect everything they try to achieve. It is also the most common. Hateful or even teasing/taunting words can leave deep bruises in the heart.

As a parent of a child with special needs I have witnessed, heard through third party and from my own child FORUM, taunts and more. These are kids that are good students have public parents and do it all behind adults backs. Its sickening. Camera in the classroom and hallways - ABSOLUTELY. Our children are most vulnerable - awareness is essential in bringing about change and educating others to the affects of verbal abuse in schools and on the playground.

This is a call to parents, teachers, kids, friends - stop bullying NOW.

  • "Punching, shoving, and other acts that hurt people physically
  • Spreading bad rumors about people
  • Keeping certain people out of a "group"
  • Teasing people in a mean way
  • Getting certain people to "gang up" on others
Bullying also can happen online or electronically. Cyber-bullying is when children or teens bully each other using the Internet, mobile phones or other cyber technology. This can include:
  • Sending mean text, email, or instant messages
  • Posting nasty pictures or messages about others in blogs or on Web sites
  • Using someone else's user name to spread rumors or lies about someone "
