Westbury, NY. Danny’s Wish announces “iPads for Autism”
fundraising campaign with a goal of $50,000 to supply iPads
to schools specializing in the development of Autistic
children and families affected by Autism.
Since
Apple released the iPad on April 3, 2010, there has been
daily news buzz about it’s overnight success and the many
wonderful uses for the Autism community. The iPad employs
new alternative communication methods and learning
applications providing Autistic children with enhanced
communication, independence, daily life skills, and
developmental growth. One example is Tap to Talk, a picture
identification application that creates sentences spoken
from the iPad. With new applications designed to assist the
Autism community available almost daily, this one
application alone gives those without a voice the chance to
be heard!
Help
us to provide the means for these voices to be heard. Make
a donation through our website,
www.DannysWish.org,
Facebook page, or simply mail your donation to Danny’s Wish,
800 Shames Drive, Westbury, NY 11590. One hundred percent
of all donations will be used for the purchase of iPads.
Our campaign will also host an iPads for Autism Auction,
December 1st – December 3rd, 2010.
Gift items are currently being collected, and merchants are
encouraged to send gifts directly or call 1-800-366-1388 for
more information.
Danny's Wish is a 501(c)3 organization. All donations are
tax deductible. Our mission is to provide life enhancing
